Director of Coaching Attila Nyiri Attends FC Barcelona Youth Football Meetings.

Washingtonville Soccer Club’s Director of Coaching Attila Nyiri is currently attending the FC Barcelona Youth Football Meetings.  The two-week event is held yearly for the coordinators and directors of the FC Barcelona youth program to meet and discuss the progress of the youth system for players U8 – U17.  While attending the event, Coach Nyiri will be given the opportunity to coach and impart his knowledge to those in attendance through lectures on the “Effectiveness of Tying the Correct Practice Methods to the Right Level of a Players Psychological Development“ and “How Players can Deal with Stress During Practices and Games.”

The event is mainly for those coaches and directors that are employed by FC Barcelona.   Coach Nyiri was invited in recognition of his commitment to the Barcelona Method and Style of Play and implementing it in youth soccer programs in the United States.

So far during his visit, Coach Nyiri has had the opportunity to speak with several members of the FC Barcelona staff including Pere Gratacos, Head of Training and Knowledge who is also the head of “La Masia.” “La Masia” is the name used for the FC Barcelona Youth Program.  Coach Nyiri also was able to spend time with Joan Vilar, Head of Barcelona Methodology.

A goal of the visit is for Coach Nyiri to begin the groundwork for a future cooperation between the Washingtonville Soccer Club and FC Barcelona.
