6th Annual Play a Match to Find a Match

The Washingtonville Soccer Club is again team up with the Be a Hero Foundation for our 6th Annual Playa Match to Find a Match January 14-15, 2017 at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton New York.

The goal of the indoor tournament is to provide competitive play while raising awareness of multiple myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer which affects bone marrow and provide screenings for anyone who is interested in being a potential bone marrow donor.

The Be the Hero For a Hero Foundation exists in conjunction with Be the Match to raise awareness for and increase bone marrow donor registrants. After being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2005, NYC Firefighter Roy Chelsen and family formed Be the Hero For a Hero in hopes of finding Roy a match. Unfortunately, Roy lost his battle on January 9, 2011. The mission of Be the Hero For a Hero lives on and it is to find a match for all those in need of a bone marrow donor.

Washingtonville Soccer Club's Congratulates Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge State Champions

The Washingtonville Soccer Club is proud to announce two of our Travel Players won the State Championships at the 2016 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge which was held at West Point on October 23, 2016.

After winning the Regional Round earlier in the day, Jenna Belcher and John Kaste out scored the regional winners from Upstate and Long Island.

The competition is designed for players 9 to 14 years old to demonstrate their skill and accuracy while taking a penalty kick.  In the regional and state round, each player is given 25 shots from the penalty spot.  The goal is divided into a point grid and players are awarded points by the location of their shot.

Jenna is a member of our '05 Girls Lady Lightning and John a member of our '02 Boys FORCE.

Jenna is the State Champion in the Girls 10 Year Old Division and John in the Boys 13 Year Old Division.
